Our Movie is Blowing Up! (and BlogWorld Details)…

I’m sitting here in the San Jose airport (mechanical delay, hehe) thinking about how much I have to be grateful for.

I’m heading out to BlogWorld New Media Expo in New York City for the next 4 days. I’ll be speaking at two different times:

  1. First, I’ll be giving a solo presentation entitled “Broke, Burnt-Out, and Busted: How to Find Your Sweet Spot in Blogging and Business” on Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. in Room 1A10.
  2. The next day, I’ll be a member of a fun panel on “More Traffic, More Authority, More Customers: Why All Bloggers Should Be Podcasting” on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. in Room 1A15.

The second panel I’ll be joined by my friends Pat Flynn, Derek Halpern, and Katie Davis. It’ll be a blast. If you’re attending BlogWorld – I can’t wait to see ya!

We’re almost halfway to our goal on Kickstarter!

Two weeks ago, I shared the trailer with you for our new documentary.

In short, the response has been nothing short of amazing. The number of people that have emailed me admitting openly to tearing up while watching it has rivaled the emotion of anything I’ve ever produced before.

Really, I expected it to resonate with people – because it resonated so much with me. But not on this level. Not this quickly.

We’re so flattered (as filmmakers)!

Here’s some of what we’ve accomplished in just over 1.5 weeks since it’s launch:

  • Over 1,750 individual backers. Crazy!
  • $45,000 pledged for post production on Kickstarter (45% of our goal)
  • 6,500+ Facebook likes on the trailer!

Honestly, I’m most proud of the sheer number of backers supporting the project!

If we keep it up, we’ll have the chance to become the most BACKED documentary in Kickstarter history (most people backing it)!

[If you don’t know what Kickstarter is – click here for an explanation.]

In case, you haven’t seen it – here’s a link to JUST the trailer on YouTube. Check it out below:

Note: Some of you have requested for us to upload JUST the trailer (the video a couple weeks ago has an introduction from me at the beginning). The video above, however, is just the trailer. So feel free to enjoy and share this one. 🙂

Thanks for all the support. It really does mean a lot to the team.

We’re well on our way to our goal – but can’t stop to rest just yet. Please help spread the word with people you know will love the trailer.

We’ve got a great flow going behind-the-scenes and all the moving pieces are coming together.

I can’t wait to show off the full movie next month!

[Click here to help make the documentary a reality – we still need your help!]

If you’re in NYC, email me – or comment here. I’d love to cross paths while I’m in town! 🙂

xoxoxo,

-Baker

  1. Really hope that you guys make the goal!

Just curious – and I really don’t like thinking the worst – but what happens if you don’t reach the Kickstart goal in time? What’s Plan B?

  2. That trailer is touching, Adam.

I agree – Plan B’s only mission is to distract from Plan A, so focus entirely on making this thing work. A lot of attention and support is coming towards the end – similar to Ebay 😉

I’ll help you personally get the word out on my social media channels.

  3. Baker:

Sorry I am late to the party just kicked in on Kickstarter. God speed my friend – and howdy to da family. It is going to happen – I feel a disturbance in The Force!

  4. Shucks! I was just in New York a few days ago. If I’d known you’d be at Blogworld, I would have tried to make advance plans to attend or at least cross paths with you 🙂
Have a blast while you’re there!

  6. I just came across your trailer and it gave me chills… definitely heading over to Kickstart to help you guys out. Also, where are you premiering it? A special event?

Keep up the good work, can’t wait to see the full film!

  7. Adam, there’s something I wanted to ask you. I really want to pledge $25 for this awesomesauce project, but amazon payments only receives credit cards, and I can only use the funds in my PayPal account. I was wondering, could you please provide a PayPal payment link so I can pledge for the project?

Thank you very much for your attention! 😀

  8. The trailer seems so great! I really hope you guys manage to collect the remaining 55% of the funds. Is Pat Flynn involved in the production? I’ve listened to that guy talk – he is a genius, really.

Is there any minimum donation one can make for the awesomesauce project? I would love to help you guys out with this. I think I’ll be one of the many people who will benefit a lot from it.

    Thanks,

    Bob
