I’m on board with that as well! Baker, i just recently discovered your blog and am so motivated by finding others working to alleviate financial weight. I’d heard about your trip before, what a great way to help people, by showing. I personally want to challenge the student loan issue not only for myself but all he other grass out there struggling. I’ve got some ideas up my sleeve so hopefully you’ll be seeing my contribution to helping soon!

Count us in we need to be debt free before the end of 2014 as we are relocating to the UK permantly from Australia with our four children. We have to sell off everything over the next few years and also pay off 85,000 in debt plus the balance (or most of it) our morgage $245,000 then sell the house.
Any help in paying off this debt and on relocation for us all would be really really appreciated and also telling my mother (a ex british) who I don’t get along with very well and who is also very controlling in the way people should live their lives that we are moving beacuse we feel it is right for us at this time in our lives.

Great Blog. I’ve set a financial goal to be Debt Free by 43 and I am going to DO something everyday to get me closer to that goal.

I only recently started reading blogs and I was thrilled to find communities of like minded people all with the same goal: to LIVE debt free. MVD ranks at the very top of list!

I think your decision to basically just drop everything and go is amazing. I’m still in the planning stages of making a big move…but it’s great to see someone else actually do it. If you can travel with your wife and young daughter, then a 17 year old with zero commitments should be able to also!

Love your website and am fascinated with your journey. Learned of it through a reference to “Buck-Saving Blogs” in the September issue of Scholastic Parenting & Child.
I am working hard to get my family out of debt and sticking to a budget. Haven’t made the jump to selling off stuff mainly because of time constraints. Hoping to get dear hubby on that in the new year!
