Friday Series, Questions for Courtney, & Karol Gadja

Hope you are having a fantastic weekend!

The personal update will be fairly short today, as I’ve already talked a lot about us this week.  🙂

On that topic, thank you all for your overwhelming suggestions.  Amazing really.  I can’t believe how many people have been to Thailand!  Especially for long amounts of time.  We feel 1000x more comfortable with all the extra information.  We owe you.

Friday Success/Inspiration Stories

Based on a lot of your feedback (and because I think it’ll be cool), I *am* going to be starting a Friday series here featuring success or inspiration stories of some sort.

I want these to be on cool people, other bloggers, Man Vs. Debt readers, and everyone in between.  These could be very small wins or very large life changing situations.  Some might be paragraphs (or multiple smaller success stories) and others may be audio or video interviews.

I’ve got a lot of people, stories, and guest posts possibilities, but haven’t finalized any schedule (past the first few weeks).  Most importantly, I would love your own suggestions and stories.  Many of you send these to me in e-mail form, which is awesome.  If you accomplish something inspiring (or are in the process of *doing* something inspiring) please send it over.

Of course, don’t be offended if I can’t use it, especially right away.  🙂

By the way, help me choose a killer name for the weekly series below! I’m usually good at naming but can’t figure out what to call the “series.”  Any good ideas?

We’ll test it out and see how it goes!

Questions for Courtney!

You guys hear from me all the time.  I do random videos, audio interviews elsewhere, and passionately spill my guts on a regular basis.  However, most of you don’t know the other half of this equation!

I thought it would be fun to take some of your questions and ask them to Courtney.  A couple of you have hinted that it would be neat and I agree.  Depending on the type and amount of questions we may do a written or video interview (or both).

If you ever wanted to see what Courtney thought about traveling, personal finance topics, or even blogging stuff…  this is your chance.  😉  Bonus points if you can embarrass her on camera, WITHOUT embarrassing me!

Lunch with Karol Gadja

One of the coolest things about being directly downtown is the chance to meet people who comes through Auckland.  Earlier this week, Milligan and I got to sit down with Karol Gadja, who blogs over at Ridiculously Extraordinary.

Karol has an inspiring background story that he’s leverage to wander the globe as a digital nomad.  We exchanged a ton of helpful information and I hope to feature his story soon on an upcoming Friday!  🙂

I had a blast and recommend checking out what he’s doing over on the blog.

Thanks to @LifeExcursion for hooking us up on Twitter.

What’s coming!

I have no idea!

If you have a brilliant name for the Friday success/inspiration stories segment or have a burning question you’ve always wanted to ask Courtney…  let them fly below!

Xoxoxo

  1. What about Friday Fear Fighters? I’d love to be mentioned if you think our story would inspire anyone. We ignored our heads and followed our hearts. It involved selling our house and moving to Panama with 3 kids aged 1, 5 and 8. We didn’t speak spanish and had never been there before. Hmmm, maybe that’s not inspiring… just plain nuts:)

  2. Baker, you amaze me with your great ideas man! Keep it up! I have been kind of slow reading my feeds this past week and just learned of your new adventure. One of the things I love about coming over here to your blog is that I get to experience, in a way, what you are experiencing. You make me want to travel the world man! Thank you!

My question for Courtney would be: Quite often couples are not on the same page, even if they’re in the same book so to speak. How far/close would you say you are to Baker when it comes to the finances and how do you get through those moments where you may not see eye to eye?

From what I have seen, this issue can make or break the team effort to eliminate debt or to even simply better manage the money. I think the team approach to finances is spot on and paramount to growing financial success.

As always, good luck with your awesome journey Baker, Courtney and Milli!

  3. Not sure if you already ran the Courtney series since my browser doesn’t work right, but I’d like to know, Courtney, if you regret not buying that delicious house that came up right before you left? Also, how hard has it been to travel with Millie, and did you ever feel like an inconvenience couchsurfing with a toddler? And since the other Qs seem so negative- what has been the best part of this adventure?!?
